GSI tube's price is several times more expensive than Reci tubes. And the cutting result is also much better. Not in the same class.
There are many dealers of GSi in China, you can also ask direclty and compare the prices.
Hi guys,
I have posted these questions on another forum but it seems nobody knows these details there. I hope I can find someone here who can answer my questions.
I was wondering if my laser has been made to run with two 140W GSI tubes(model SLC140BP) is it possible to use 2 x RECI 150W (possibly w6 model) tubes instead. Are they identical in length and in a tube diameter, all connections and power consumption?
Also does anybody know where I can find a price for a 140W GSI tube (SLC140 BP)?
Does GSI sell them directly or they only can be ordered through the factory where the laser has been made?

Hi Melody,
If I buy it from GWeike how much will you charge me for 140W GSI SLC140BP tube? If you do not want to post the price directly on this thread send me a personal message with it.
I am trying to see if the factory that has made my laser asking too much for the tubes. If they are I will be looking for a better price anyway and if yours is much better I will buy fron you.
Also what about my other question about GSI tubes replacement with RECI ones. Is it possible without changing anything else? I thought if they are the same in length and power requirements it should not be a problem. It seems that both GSI and RECI come in 80mm diameter. It would be a good alternative for me in terms of the cost of replacement.
Hi ozstockman,
First, you can replace RECI tube instead of GSI tube
GSI laser tube now is the only glass tube which can refill in the world,so if you have GSI tube, then when you run out,you can send the tube back to GSI company or the seller, they can refill for you
RECI tube is very hot in china now,as its shape is similar to GSI TUBE
finally,we can sell GSI tube or RECI tube
Sorry wktina but you are wrong.
We sell laser machines with DC excited glass lasers that are refillable.
It is also possible to exchange optics.
This are our own lasers, not RECI nor GSI.
Regards

CNC lasers, constructions, service
Who/What is wrong?
I have not known GSI tubes are refillable.

GSI tubes are refillable as are Coherant and a number of other makes.
There are now companies who offer to refill both RECI and EFR ZX as well so long as they have the metal final optic holders. In many cases for RECI and EFR ZX the refill costs more than a new tube but possible all the same.
GSI tubes go to the highest power levels but are premium quality, in most cases costing more than the machine they are fitted in (in the case of Chinese machines) A 400 watt GSI is around £6,000 retail here (they are made in the UK).
Great if you really must have the best available but overkill unless you are running a mid level laser cutting service or require very fine levels of quality control.
Looking at it another way, would you fit a Ferrari engine in a Ford Focus?
best wishes
Dave
Sorry to revive an old thread but what is the procedure for refilling a laser tube? Vacuum out all the air and refill it with CO2, then seal it? Why would that cost any great amount?
Adrian
Not having the correct gas mix would be a problem, but any shop that repairs neon signs would have the technology(1930's) to vacuum and refill a glass tube.
Are you serious? I have been quoted many times aroud $6000 for 140W GSI tube. It sound unreal that 400W can be sold for £6,000
If that's real I want a laser with 400W GSI tube :-)
BTW, I cannot see any specs for 400W tubes on JKlaser website, their range for DC excited CO2 tubes is from 60W and up to 220W.
If anybody is chasing GSI(JkLaser) SLC140BP 140W tube I have two for sale.
One is dead and needs a regas and replacing an electrode.
Another still outputs about 120W-125W(last tested 2.5 years ago) but I would regas it too to get it to 140W.
Tubes were used for about two years as a combined 280W beam(still have a combiner) until I killed one of them by not checking a water level in my water cooler.
The tubes will come with power supplies which cost about $900 AUD at least.
There is a company in UK that 2.5 years ago could do a repair and regassing. They quoted me £2900 GBP for all work. I did not go with doing it with them because I needed to get back to normal production within days and I bought a Yongli combined 300W as a replacement for my GSI tubes.
I am selling both tubes for $2500 AUD as it is. The combiner is not included but we can negotiate its price if a buyer wants it.
Please note that a SLC140BP 140W tube is an exceptional beam profile quality. Before JK Laser was sold to another company they were selling this model for $6000 USD(about $9000 AUD)
As a price point tubes and PSs replacement cost is $19000 AUD and you can get them for $2500 AUD plus about $5000 AUD for bringing them to a new state.
I prefer a buyer from Australia, better even from Brisbane. I can pack and post them but considering they are long glass tubes it is a risky business with posting.
